Shakespeare as YOU (UMS) wrote it ...

On Wednesday the 20th we got a visit from the performance company NZ Playhouse. They performed a show to us all about the plays of Williams Shakespeare BUT we got to choose which one :)

We learned about the plays and how they were made outside in an open stage with sword fights, lots of rhyming and simile/metaphor.

Room 18

UMS Tuesday Sport

On Tuesday the 26th of February 2013 Room 18 had another sport session with Keiren. We played a warm-up game of hospital tag before learning how to catch and throw a tennis ball over a long distance.

You put your thumbs together and fingers under on a high catch and do the opposite on a low catch. We always bring the ball towards our body to finish.

After the catching practice we had two games of Baseball-Cricket. Yellow house vs Red and Blue vs Green.

Beach Education @ South Brighton

On Friday the 15th of February 2013 Rooms 16 & 18 went to South Brighton surf club to learn about the Beach and how to be safe while swimming.

We left Belfast school on the bus and traveled to South Brighton where we met the lifeguards Meg, Henry and Henry. They taught us about the flags, signalling if we get in trouble in the water and some fun surf lifesaving competitions like capture the hose.

What a great day at the beach body surfing and boogie boarding!!!
